I Luv These Guy’s!

It’s so unfortunate that these brotha’s can’t enjoy celebrating the 30th anniversary of 3 Feet High & Rising due to a claim that they would only receive 10 percent of streaming profits, with the rest going to Tommy Boy.

Tommy Boy had agreed to a 70 percent share, but would take an extra 20 percent toward a “phantom debt” the group allegedly owes of $2 million.

“Tommy Boy Boycott” spearheaded by Questlove, Nas, JAY-Z, Jarobi and many other hip hop peers joining in the fight. What’s even bigger is TIDAL streaming service told Tommy Boy that they will not do a deal until they can work something out with De La.

The group also announced that Tommy Boy wants them to sign a confidentiality agreement before hearing the new terms.

A Roller Skating Jam Named Saturdays!

Off of the De La Soul Is Dead album.  De La Soul shot this video at Lace’s roller rink on Long Island.  They were notorious for having folks jump on their tracks.

In fact: Russell Simmons came through to shoot his part at the top of the track, (he was the DJ that was talking).  You’ll also see Charlie Brown (of L.O.N.S.) and Chi Ali in the video.
