It’s so unfortunate that these brotha’s can’t enjoy celebrating the 30th anniversary of 3 Feet High & Rising due to a claim that they would only receive 10 percent of streaming profits, with the rest going to Tommy Boy.
Tommy Boy had agreed to a 70 percent share, but would take an extra 20 percent toward a “phantom debt” the group allegedly owes of $2 million.
“Tommy Boy Boycott” spearheaded by Questlove, Nas, JAY-Z, Jarobi and many other hip hop peers joining in the fight. What’s even bigger is TIDAL streaming service told Tommy Boy that they will not do a deal until they can work something out with De La.
The group also announced that Tommy Boy wants them to sign a confidentiality agreement before hearing the new terms.
